The aim of The Universody / Focalpoint - Training is to provide a comprehensive range of courses, workshops and lectures on aspects of current photographic practice.

This program is aimed at all levels of potential students, but our emphasis is on professional training for photographers, lecturers, trainers and teachers of photography. This training should also be of interest to people who use images through their work as publicity and marketing professionals. We have also worked extensively with artists.
The team of trainers are professionals in a a range of areas and have many years of experience both as practitioners and trainers. Whilst we will be concentrating on current practice (digital) we will also be offering training in traditional photographic practice that are relevant.

We are offering custom designed courses and one off workshops to individuals and small groups of up to three students. Additionally we can deliver a range of talks and lectures to larger groups.

We are not affiliated to any manufacturers or software suppliers so will be offering an unbiased overview of the process and can offer unprejudiced advice on both these areas.
Training will be on understanding the processes and techniques involved not on learning any specific software program or how to use any one make or model of equipment.

Training is based at our facility in Exeter where we can offer hands on training on a variety of computer based equipment, scanners and printers. In addition we can arrange for training visits to your workplace.

Computer based training will be carried out on PC based computer systems and in keeping with our policy we can offer alternative operating systems and a range of the most suitable software.
